JEWELLERY SIZING

Ring Sizes

I offer full standard UK ring sizes from H – Z and also make rings in half sizes.  If you’re unsure of your ring size, read my ring sizing guide here.

Bangle Sizes

Most Kirsten Manzi Jewellery bangles are solid and therefore measured by diameter. Bangles are listed in three standard sizes (but they can be custom made to any size):

Small - Diameter 60mm
Medium - Diameter 64mm
Large - Diameter 70mm
Extra Large Diameter- 74mm

If you are unsure which size you need, you can measure the diameter of a bangle that already fits. Make sure it fits over your hand when your hand is made as narrow as possible (tuck your thumb into your fingers.)

If you need help with sizing please refer to my jewellery sizing guide or get in touch.

MATERIALS

What is recycled silver?

Excluding some chains and findings, all silver Kirsten Manzi Jewellery is made using 100% Recycled Silver. Recycled Silver or "Eco Silver" is an eco-friendly alternative to mined Sterling Silver. It is made using recycled silver products such as jewellery, medical equipment, electronics and giftware. These items are melted down and turned into silver wire and sheet which Kirsten then uses to create silver jewellery. Recycled silver is still sterling silver so looks no different and can be hallmarked as sterling (925).

DO YOU WORK IN OTHER METALS?

I work with a variety of precious metals, predominantly silver and gold. All of my collections are made using 100% recycled silver but can be commissioned in any precious metal and bespoke commissions can be made to your specifications. I am also a Fairtrade registered jeweller, which means I can purchase and use certified Fairtrade metals.

What is the dark black colour on some of your jewellery?

The blackened effect is called oxidation. Oxidation can be deliberate or naturally occurring.  Deliberate oxidation is created by applying a chemical to the surface of the silver to create a deep black colour. Any oxidised jewellery is finished with wax to protect the black finish. Do not try to polish deliberately oxidised silver as you risk losing the black finish.

What is tarnish?

Silver jewellery will oxidise naturally over time - this is usually described as tarnish.  Sterling silver is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, usually copper.  The copper reacts to moisture and sulfur in the air, causing the silver to tarnish.

To prevent tarnishing, store your jewellery in a resealable bag, pouch or box.  You can clean tarnished silver using lukewarm water and a soft brush, dry thoroughly and polish with a soft polishing cloth.
